Painted Perversion Proudly Presents Repo! The Genetic Opera Road Tour III!!
TESTIFY!!

Painted Perversion, Michigan's only continuing montly Rocky Horror Picture Show shadowcast proudly presents (in conjunction with Repo! Road Tour III) Repo! The Genetic Opera. Here is the official press release:

"REPO! ROAD TOUR 3 SET TO KICK OFF JANUARY 13

“I think that the REPO! Road Tour must be seen to be believed. REPO! has inspired a community, and that community shows up in force on the road tour to bond, sing, and show off their fan-made REPO! costumes and props. I imagine this is what being there on the ground floor of The Rocky Horror Picture Show experience 33 years ago must have been like.” Stated Terrance Zdunich Actor/Co Creator.

The third and FINAL leg of the REPO! Road Tour is primed and ready to kick off January 13, 2009. Director Darren Bousman and actor/writer Terrance Zdunich will be heading out across the country to promote their film, REPO! The Genetic Opera. In anticipation of the dual release of the extended Soundtrack and the DVD on January 20th, Bousman and Zdunich will be taking over independent theaters and screening the film for fans in-person. The REPO! Road Tour is for fans to come out and be a part of the event together. Each city has put its own spin on the event, from fans dressing up as characters to theater-wide sing-a-longs, and more!

With sellouts on the first two REPO! Road Tours, Bousman and Zdunich look to repeat their success. Tickets are $15 and are on-sale Monday, December 29, at www.reporoadtour.com. The event WILL sell-out, so make sure to buy yours early! Recently on REPO! Road Tour I and II, several cast members have joined the tour in select cities including Paul Sorvino, Alexa Vega and Bill Moseley, as well as co-writer and band leader Darren Smith, so to all REPO! Fans; be prepared for special guests!

Bousman commented on the upcoming tour: “The REPO! Road Tour has become the single most important aspect of REPO. You haven't seen REPO until you have seen it with a packed house of dressed-up people singing with the movie. The Road Tour truly has turned into an event. It's like a concert. Every single show we have done thus far has been sold out. With lines wrapping around the block, the fan reaction is amazing.”

For the fans: REPO! Road Tour includes an introduction to the film by Bousman and Zdunich, a screening of REPO! The Genetic Opera, as well as a post-film Q&A session and autograph session with the filmmakers and Actors, and a chance to purchase exclusive REPO! Road Tour merchandise.

REPO! The Genetic Opera: In the no-so-distant future, a worldwide epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet. Out of the tragedy, a savior emerges: GENECO, a biotech company that offers organ transplants...for a price. Those who miss their payments are scheduled for repossession and hunted by THE REPO MAN. By fusing ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW and BLADE RUNNER, this futuristic tale of horror modernizes the “rock opera” genre with original music and rich, dark production design. This rock opera boasts an entirely original soundtrack that blends equal parts goth and punk rock to form an eerie and powerful musical narrative and features vocal performances by an amazing cast; Paris Hilton, Bill Moseley, Sarah Brightman, Anthony Stewart Head, Alexa Vega, Paul Sorvino, Ohgr and more. Instrumentals and score provided by an all-star lineup that features performances from Joan Jett( who cameos in the film), Richard Patrick (Filter), Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction), Clown (Slipknot), Ray Luzier (Army of Anyone), Brian Young (David Lee Roth's band), Sonny Moore (From First to Last), Richard Fortus (Guns & Roses), David J (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets), Daniel Ash (Love & Rockets), Blasko (Ozzy Osbourne), Tommy Clefetus (Rob Zombie's band), Melora Creager (Rasputina). Also lending her voice to the soundtrack is the edgy pop star Poe.

x-posted- T-shirts and such.
So, as it's October and all, we've been running our butts off even though we're not active Rocky cast members anymore. And most of our adventures haven't been RH related. I guess I'm forever marked for marathon Octobers...

Anyway, sophoclesg of our cast out here in Fairfax came up with a nifty screen for this year, and just wanted to put it on offer to a wider audience...

I think it looks kewl. If you do too and you'd care for one, we're selling them at the show for ten bucks, but online for 15 to cover shipping and such.

You can have the back printed as well. Among the wording choices we have are a truncated O'Brien quote: "No army went to war wearing fishnets and 6" high heels", or "The nation may go to shit, but we will look fabulous", The Rocky logo, or the Transylvanian Concubine cast logo.

We also have a Frank for President, Riff for President, or a combined Riff/Frank ticket...

And the Death Records logo from Phantom of the Paradise.

Just sayin.

Painted Perversion Proudly Presents The Rocky Horror Picture Show Oct. 31, 2008 @ 11PM
Hello fellow Transylvanians, Rocky Virgins and Worshipers of D.C.,

We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary and things are just getting started!! Be sure to come early to experience our unusual and entertaining Pre-Shows. This popular event is requested every time we do a show and if you have never seen it, now is the time to see why it is a favorite. Your two favorite male Transylvanians (AKA Butt Babies) will be dressing in drag and racing for your delight. Also, the costume contest returns. So, come dressed as your Favorite Halloween\RHPS character and win a prize (1st prize is a "one of a kind" Painted Perversion T-Shirt signed by the entire cast; 2nd prize is a "one of a kind" Painted Perversion pantie signed by the entire cast). The Priestess Minerva returns for Halloween night to read your fortune. Care to see what your future may hold? Also, we are doing something a little different for pre-show music. On Halloween night, see Mr. Denton on Doomsday perform LIVE for listening pleasure. Here is a band bio:

"Mr Denton On Doomsday have been on a rampage since forming in the summer of 2006. In that short time, they have performed over 100 shows across the midwest, sold over 2500 CDs and opened for many national recording acts including The Misfits, Nonpoint, Skindred, Adema, Sponge, Six (featuring members of Cypress Hill), Egypt Central, and Scum of the Earth (featuring Riggs, guitarist for Rob Zombie). In Sept of 2008 Mr Denton's song "Karo" was added to the rotation on over 400 Internet Radio Stations. Mr Denton On Doomsday have performed at such legendary venues as The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, Planet Rock in Battle Creek, the infamous I-Rock in Detroit, The Machine Shop in Flint, and Harpos America's largest concert theatre. With a fervent, loyal fan base, a full-length album in the final stages of production, and an endless calender of gigs this band shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Mr Denton On Doomsday includes vocalist Travis in addition to members Fate (Guitar, vocals), Bush (Bass), and Benjamin (Drums). Although these diverse band mates cite King Crimson, Black Sabbath, Queens Of The Stone Age and many others as influences, they create a sound unique unto themselves. Mr Denton On Doomsday is known for clever, insightful lyrics touching on the world of politics as well as personal conflicts and the degradation of rock music as a whole.

With a base in metal and a foot in the door of funk, it's hard to pigeon-hole Mr Denton On Doomsday into one particular music style. Whether it's the soulful blues soloing of Fate, the wah-wah induced funk of Bush's bottom line, or the syncopation of erratic drums beats, each member brings something different to a band not content to settle for less. Their love for the music is evident in every note of every song, and every drop of blood or sweat left on stage. If given the opportunity to see Mr Denton On Doomsday live, then do one thing: Don't miss it!

"Mr Denton on Doomsday's sound falls somewhere between a modern day King Crimson and Black Sabbath, with music that's fresh, original, uncharted." -Anne Erickson - Lansing State Journal

"Each song from Mr Denton On Doomsday is completely unique from the next. Some songs have distinct changes throughout, making you think you are hearing a fusion of several different bands." - Andrew Rogers - LCC"S The Lookout"

Show date is October 31 (Halloween Night) at 11:30 PM. Tickets are $8 per person. ANNOUNCEMENT: We're Still Married (and Francisco is still dead)
Yes, it's true: Arthur and I have managed not to kill one another will soon be celebrating 5 years of wedded bliss.

This is indeed a momentous occasion, and we have decided to treat it as such.

By odd happenstance, that weekend (May 25th) is also the 5th anniversary of TRHPS in Fairfax, VA.

So it would seem only natural to combine the two, as it will officially be Sunday, May 25th when the show begins.

This is by no means a planned mini-con, palooza, or anything of that kind. There will be as little organization and planning beforehand as humanly possible. There will, however, be a scouting party to determine cheapest lodging in the area, a large batch of Arthur's copiously alcoholic punch, a HUGE amount of Apples to Apples cards, and at the show... a pre-show or two by our cast.

Others are welcome to request places in the show... if there is enough interest we may split roles- the cast is not against sitting in the seats for a change to see how someone else does things. (the same can be said for pre-shows, but let's keep 'em short.... this is time we COULD be spending drinking.) I believe Monday is also Memorial (Labor? I'm so confused..) day, so there's even rest-before-returning time.

So what say you, o friends of ours across the lands? Shalt thou be joining us??

X-posted to like.... everywhere....

RO'B of Sherwood

Robin of Sherwood is getting a US DVD release! The series, which ran from 1984-1986, featured Richard O'Brian as Gulnar in the third season. According to Amazon.com, the first boxed set (which won't contain any RO'B episodes) is due out in March 2007. Also, according to Wikipedia, "Richard Carpenter announced, via the show's official fan club, that he was writing a two-hour Robin of Sherwood TV movie for ITV and that he intended to reunite as many of the surviving cast for the production as was possible." I don't know if that includes Richard.

sync watching
What is it?
A "game" of sorts, created one dark, drab Saturday night. Chatting on-line one day with a mate, somehow we got to the point where we both whipped out our RHPS DVDs and watched them at the same time; despite being in different time zones (hah hah hah ). Whilst watching the film we chatted on, as usual, typing AP lines, opinions of the film and performers, et cetera. This became somewhat of a ritual, and we frequently sync-watch RHPS.

HOWEVER, watching RHPS (and other films) in sync by our little old selves (she's little, I'm old) lacks a certain ... je ne sais quoi. Ergo, I'm inviting you to join us!

What do you need to sync-watch?
1) An Internet connection (most obviously), with messenger; hotmail, yahoo, et cetera.
2) A copy of RHPS, or any other film that each person (of the group) owns (say, if you all have Harry Potter, you can all watch that; group's choice). BTW, DVD is preferred. Video is okay - if you have your TV right next to your computer
3) An open mind; some people have different likes from you, you know! Someone may like something you don't about the film or the actors in it, but if you're going to banter, keep it civil!
4) Patience; sometimes computers glitch and make you ahead/behind the others (in the group). The best thing to do (if it gets too far out of sync) is to get everyone to pause at a certain point and all press play when everyone's ready.

If you are interested in sync-watching amd talking to other rocky fans come check out this forum http://aussierockycast.proboards57.com/index.cgi

Richard Community
Yesterday, I was whining about not knowing where to post non-Rocky Richard news/icons/etc. Thanks to the probing (har!) of liquiddatura, I just created a Richard community. It will deal with ALL aspects of Richard's career. Featured will be images, news, graphics, sounds, videos, and so on.

If you're interested (and I KNOW you are!), then feel free to check it out.

Sorry if this isn't allowed, but I figured - where else would it be appreciated?
